The 5-Panel snapback cap features an embroidered Vato Rat graphic, a lightly structured classic shape with a flat brim and matching undervisor. Crafted from 100% cotton, the one-size-fits-all cap is made in Bangladesh.
The Vato Rat Bones artwork was created by artist Craig Stecyk, who was inspired by the Hispanic gang culture and graffiti of the Dogtown "Z-Boy" surf-skate scene in Santa Monica during the 1970s. Stecyk, who was airbrushing Zephyr surfboards at the time, used the Vato Rat as one of many symbols to decorate boards and mark territory at local surf spots.
In 1983, Stacy Peralta decided to revive the Vato Rat as a Powell-Peralta graphic, calling it "Rat Bones." This iconic design was then used in advertising, on decks, stickers, and t-shirts.
The snapback cap features a plastic snap closure and is hand-washable. It is an imported product, with the country of origin being Bangladesh.
