Mike McGill Skull & Snake Skateboard Decks

In the summer of 1984, while Mike McGill was perfecting the 540 McTwist at a Swedish summer camp, V.C.J. was working on a new deck graphic for him. Given the popularity of the "Skull & Bones" theme, that direction was chosen for McGill's new deck. Mike's input was to add the snake and lightning bolts, as there is an abundance of both in his home state of Florida. The result is the iconic Skull & Snake skateboard.

Originally released in 1984, the Skull & Snake deck was created by artist Vernon Courtlandt Johnson. The deck dimensions are as follows: Deck Width = 10", Deck Length = 30.125", Wheelbase = 16.625", Deck Nose = 2.5", and Deck Tail = 6". The deck features the Long 4 - 2.5" Old School Truck Hole Pattern, with a Shape 160 and Concave SP3.

This release is a 40th Anniversary edition of the McTwist version, showcasing gold foil and pearl inks. The deck is sold without grip tape.

The Skull & Snake is truly a classic skateboard icon, born from the creative collaboration between Mike McGill and Vernon Courtlandt Johnson in the summer of 1984. Its enduring popularity and iconic design have cemented its place in skateboarding history.
