The Powell Peralta GeeGah Skull & Sword Hot Pink Skateboard Deck Reissue boasts a premium quality construction, featuring a 7-ply hard-rock maple build made right. This skateboard deck measures 9.75 inches in width and 30 inches in length, with a wheelbase of 15.125 inches. The deck's nose measures 3.75 inches, while the tail is 6.875 inches long, showcasing a Shape 179 with Concave SP3 profile. The deck also features a Long 4 - 2.5" Old School Truck Hole Pattern.

Crafted in partnership with a manufacturer in Mexico, this reissued deck utilizes U.S. hard rock maple and glue that meets Powell Peralta's stringent specifications, ensuring a warranty against delamination for the deck's useful life. The shape and graphics were created in the company's Santa Barbara, California headquarters.

The story behind this iconic design dates back to the mid-1980s, when jump ramps were immensely popular. Unfortunately, the decks of that era were prone to snapping under the stress of these high-flying maneuvers. Powell Peralta's high rate of deck returns prompted the company to seek ways to strengthen their products and make them more resistant to jump-related breaks.

One solution they devised was the "Bonite" construction method. Another was the "Gee-Gaw" shape, which featured strategic bumps to reinforce the deck's break-prone areas. The origin of the "Gee-Gaw" name is a mystery, best left to the enigmatic Chris Iverson to unravel.

This specific "Skull & Sword" graphic was the first pro signature deck design produced by Powell Peralta, conceived by Ray Rodriguez and illustrated by V.C. Johnson under the art direction of George Powell in 1979.

The reissued deck retains the original specifications, including the 9.75-inch width, 30-inch length, 15.125-inch wheelbase, 3.75-inch nose, and 6.875-inch tail. The Shape 179 and Concave SP3 profile, as well as the Long 4 - 2.5" Old School Truck Hole Pattern, all contribute to the deck's timeless and iconic aesthetic.

Grip tape is not included with this deck, allowing skaters to personalize their setup with their choice of grip.
