Category: powell peralta deck

In 1988, Powell-Peralta ran an "Artist Wanted" advertisement in TWS and Thrasher magazines, seeking talented individuals for a job in their art department in Santa Barbara. The artist selected for the position was Sean Cliver, primarily due to the close resemblance of his illustration style to that of VCJ, the company's renowned graphic designer.

Cliver's first deck design, the Barbee Ragdoll, marked a departure from the traditional VCJ aesthetic. However, when it came time to update the iconic Caballero dragon graphic, Sean Cliver expertly emulated the master's style. At some point later, the graphic was dubbed the "Ban This" Dragon, as it was prominently featured in a video, particularly in a slow-motion sequence.

The Caballero "Ban This" Dragon deck was originally released in 1988, with artwork created by Sean Cliver. The deck specifications are as follows:

Deck Width: 9.265 inches Deck Length: 32 inches Wheelbase: 14.75 inches Deck Nose: 6.5 inches Deck Tail: 6.5 inches Shape: 192 Concave: K21

The deck is sold as a standalone item, without grip tape included.

The FLIGHT Deck Construction by Powell-Peralta is known for its THINNER, STRONGER, and LONGER LASTING qualities, with the decks being MADE IN THE USA. The materials used in the construction include high-quality U.S. hard rock maple, high-strength fiberglass, and AirLam fused with epoxy resin, ensuring a durable and reliable skateboard.
